HEY GOO, WHAT'S NEW

Ever get asked "how are things" and there's just a rotten root at the bottom of the question... like it's asked in bad faith and whoever is askin it wants your answer to be neg bc they're stuck on "talk shit" mode. Not that I don't get stuck there and do the same thing as the querier in this scenario...

So YOU'RE here in good faith, I HOPE. I only have good news, so if you're gonna neg on my parade, SHOO.

First off, exciting hot fresh gossip, Rat Paws just booked our second show in Olympia, WA, with a little help from the I.P.U. We are playing at cocktail bar venue THE CRYPT on August 26 - it's a Saturday. Other band on the bill right now is 11:11, a new punk band. (I think this crew is the kind to dissolve and reform as a new punk band annually) aka NEW LIFER BAND alert.

More outside Seattle excursions to come. We are creeping in directions north and south like an indomitable vine. .

Example gratis, this weekend we'll be playing a house show in Portland (on Saturday the 29th) and tomorrow night (friday the 28th) we'll be playing a home show: Cap Hill's Best Basement Venue, Barboza. Last time we played there like a year ago the bartender bought a shirt (the only sale of the night). I was like oH THANKS GOSH tripping all over myself, when he says (totally deadpan) I... REALLY LIKE RATS... (it happens)

Portlanders, drop me a line if you want to come to this show Saturday, the address is TOP SECRET or hit up @friendsofsarahdouglas.diy on their IG. The other bands on the PDX bill are Parlor Hour, Seattle's iffin and a new new group called tell me i'm pretty tell me i'm good (this crowd is too cool for Capitalization). It's also Mira's birthday so come help me pour gin down her face! Don't worry, we won't be driving home the same night! PRATY.

BUT FIRST, Friday night we play Barboza AT 7:30, so spit that communion wafer outta yr mouth and get your asses down the stairs at the corner of Pike and 10th! There's ok food around if you haven't eaten dinner! I prefer the bean bowl at Rancho Bravo! After us will be hometown heroes SKYLER FORD AND THE LEGION OF PEACE : authentic dance music for authentic half-broken millennials. I've seen videos of their first and only other performance and was blown away... lockstep rhythm and dance. Rock instruments. Anti-bromides. OH baby. https://skylerford.bandcamp.com/album/the-real-thing Last and not leastly is SUNDAE CRUSH, beloved doomsday gothic country from Seattle BUT MAKE IT CAMP https://sundaecrush.bandcamp.com/album/a-real-sensation

THAT'S ALL KIDS. DON'T FORGET TO WRITE!
